What I've Learned So Far

1) What have you learned how to do since you started working on your senior project?
I've learned how to interview a person and better research skills. I haven't learned actually learned makeup skills but through my research I have learned how to properly put on mascara, the history of mascara, cleaning brushes, the difference between brushes and how your diet is key to the way your skin looks.

2) Post evidence of this accomplishment.  It can be in the form of a picture, video, document, etc..
My 5 minute presentation poster.

3) What research helped you to do this and how?
Most significant research that I have is the book Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual. It has everything you need to know about makeup from the basics of cleaning to creating looks. I'm so glad I've found this and it makes other research sources more understandable.

Independent Component 1 Plan Approval

1) I would like to create instructional videos on different makeup looks. I can pick looks from a picture and try to recreate it through a step by step video. I will use either myself or another model to show it.

2) Each video will be a tutorial on a certain look. I will go through all the products used and which makeup brushes would be best . Then go through all the steps to achieve the goal of the look I chose.
By doing multiple videos I believe I can achieve my 30 hours. Depending on each look, the time will vary.

2) My independent component relates to my E.Q. by going through the process and struggle of an everyday makeup artist. I believe doing many tutorial videos I will be able to practice and develop my own signature look. Developing a signature is one of my answers to my E.Q.

Defining the Essential Question

(1) What is your EQ?
What is most important to becoming a successful makeup artist?
(2) Define the words in your EQ to make sure we are on the same page regarding what your EQ means.
My EQ is asking which out of all the ways of being a makeup artist such as keeping up with the latest trends, having clients coming back, geting hired for major jobs such as fashion shows or movies, and having a portfolio which would be the most important to be successful. By successful I mean having jobs, returning clients, celebrity clients, and being a head of other artist.
(3) What are some possible answers to your EQ so far?
A few possible answers I have are knowing your different makeup tools and knowing the use for each one.Setting your self apart from other artist. Having a good reputation because if word gets around that you complain a lot people won't hire you no matter how good your makeup skills are.
(4) What has been your most important source and why?
My most important source is the book Bobbi Brown Makeup Manuel by Bobbi  Brown. It's been very important because it's clear on what each artist needs and everything you need to know to be a makeup artist.
