 Every artist should have a look book which gives your client ideas. This is the beginning of my look book.


During theory I've taken many notes.


The start of my professional makeup kit.


While learning to highlight and contour I had to have my back turned away from the mirror and feel my face on where I should apply the contour.

(b) I have been attending Lebec Makeup Atelier, which is a training program for makeup artist. So far the 30 hours of work is theory. I've learned about preparation on how to profile a client/model,  product knowledge,  hygiene/safety, ingredients, cosmetic textures/effects, skin types, age groups, face shapes, eye shapes, lip shapes,  and highlighting/ contouring.  All of this must be known before any fieldwork.

Interpretive
For my independent component I have become so much knowledgeable and I have realized that you have to understand what your doing and why before you can be hands on. It's more than throwing some makeup on that looks pretty. It's about having depth knowledge on how to approach someone with specific face shapes and be able to know what kind of makeup will work for them.  Before you even touch the person you have to analyze their face shape and skin type then create a makeup design that best suits that person. 

Applied
This has tremendously helped me define what "successful" is in my EQ. Before I thought it had to do with the fame, working with celebrities, and big brand makeup companies.  Now, after my 30 hours of theory, sitting in on makeup sessions, and truly understanding the application process of makeup it has changed my EQ answers for the better.  I now view successful by having thorough knowledge of you products, face anatomy, and most important catering to your client/model. Repeatedly I have been informed that if you want to build you cliental list you must provide a great service to your client.  More specifically in my third interview Lebec explained how if you inform your client on how to apply makeup she will have a great impression and want to share her experience with everyone. From that one person you can start building your cliental list. It's always about making the client feel special.
